Who owns the account
QuestLearn accounts are created and owned by a parent or legal guardian. Children do not create accounts, do not receive login credentials, and are not asked for an email address. A parent launches the child experience from inside their own signed-in account.
What we collect from parents
- Email address and first name
- Authentication data managed by our authentication provider
- Subscription and billing status (card details are held by our payment processor, never by us)
- Email preferences, including whether you want a weekly progress report
What we collect for a learner profile
- A nickname or first-name alias chosen by the parent
- Age and grade
- Selected interests and learning preferences
- Progress data: question attempts, accuracy, hints used, time spent, XP and achievements
What we deliberately do not collect
- Child last name, email address or phone number
- Street address or precise location
- School name or exact date of birth
- Photographs, audio or video of a child
How learner data is used
Learner data is used to personalize adventures, select grade-appropriate questions, adjust difficulty inside the grade boundary you set, and show you progress. Learner data is private to your account by default. There are no public child profiles, no child-to-child messaging, no public leaderboards, and no targeted advertising to children.
Story personalization
To personalize a quest, a story generation service receives only the learner nickname, age, grade, chosen theme, the skill being practiced, current story context, and a question with its approved answer choices and explanation. It does not receive your email, billing data, or the learner’s history. It cannot change a correct answer, difficulty, scoring or mastery status, and it never asks a child for personal information.
Your controls
- View and edit all learner data
- Delete a learner, or delete that learner’s progress only
- Export available progress data
- Delete your parent account and all associated learner data
- Turn the weekly parent report on or off
We only email parents. Emails include account verification, password reset, quest and subscription confirmations, payment issues, and the optional weekly progress report. We never email a child.
Data retention and deletion
Deleting a learner removes that learner’s profile, adventures, attempts and progress. Deleting your account removes your parent record and all learners attached to it. Some internal, non-identifying operational logs may be retained for reliability and cost monitoring.
Contact
Privacy requests should be sent to the contact address published at launch. A verified contact route, data-subject request process, and retention schedule must be finalized during legal review.
